Automatically load pre-mapped third party source data into BMC Atrium CMDB
As your company's Remedy usage increases and your need for a more robust and reliable CMDB becomes more of a focus, you need to be sure that the data in that CMDB is harvested and managed with ease and accuracy.
If you have a CMDB initiative underway, we would like to share with you a number of ways in which Seamless can simplify your CMDB implementation.
The following products are connected to BMC Atrium CMDB:
BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BBES)
Cisco Network Compliance Manager (NCM)
CiscoWorks Resource Manager Essentials (RME)
HP OpenView Network Node Manager (NNM)
HP Service Automation Reporter
(SAR/OMDB) for (SA/NA data)
IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM)
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (SCCM 2007)
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 (OpsMgr 2007)
Seamless provides a commercial off-the-shelf and supported solution that synchronizes and maintains CMDB data from HP automation tools. The HP Network Automation (NA) to BMC Atrium integration enables the Remedy administrator to populate NA device data as well as device relationship data into the Atrium CMDB as CIs.
Key Functionality
- The data is read from HP NA through a standard API/JDBC interface .
- The data is associated from the HP NA relationship (i.e. Device-Device, Device-Location, Device-Firmware, etc) to the Atrium CMDB relationship
- The data is populated into appropriate forms in the CMDB as defined by the Connector mapping definition files. Default mapping ships with the connector and custom mapping is via a configuration file
- Users can access the HP NA data from the Remedy system once the data is merged into the Atrium CMDB via the reconciliation process
- The data is automatically updated based on changes detected by HP NA
Benefits
- Advances customer initiatives for CMDB based quality improvements, regulatory and process compliance, and business operational efficiency gains. The connector maps data from the HP NA into the existing Atrium CMDB data structures
- Reduces process design, CMDB population and design, technology deployment, integration labor and maintenance costs plus enables customer efficiency and improvement programs using ITIL aligned service programs
